  12.      Sound Blaster(TM) PC audio standard, today at Intermedia launched 
  13.      Sound Blaster AWE32(TM), Creative's most advanced audio card to date.  
  14.      Sound Blaster AWE32 combines the powerful features of Creative's 
  15.      award-winning Sound Blaster 16 Advanced Signal Processing card with 
  16.      the great sounding Advanced WavEffects(TM) digital sample playback 
  17.      synthesis capabilities of E-mu Systems'(R) EMU8000 integrated audio 
  18.      DSP.  It has a suggested retail price of $399.95 and will begin 
  19.      shipping to major distributors and resellers worldwide within the 
  20.      next two weeks.

  40.      Advanced Signal Processing

  42.      Creative's Advanced Signal Processor, a programmable DSP, performs 
  43.      real-time compression and decompression of audio files.  It also 
  44.      features Creative TextAssist(TM) advanced text-to-speech synthesis and 
  45.      QSound(TM) 180 degree virtual audio.  For voice-annotating documents, 
  46.      Creative offers two options for compressing and decompressing speech 
  47.      data - FastSpeech 8 and FastSpeech 10.  FastSpeech 8 compresses data 
  48.      to one eighth its original size and FastSpeech 10 compresses data to 
  49.      one tenth its original size.  Because FastSpeech compresses data in 
  50.      real-time, users do not need to conduct off-line processing.

  52.      Advanced Audio Technology
  53.      E-mu's patented digital sample playback technology, which is 
  54.      incorporated into Creative's Advanced WavEffects synthesis, is based 
  55.      on the EMU8000 audio DSP and features CD quality, real instrument 
  56.      sounds that surpass the audio quality produced by wave table 
  57.      synthesis technology.

  59.      Many of the features of Sound Blaster AWE32 are traditionally only 
  60.      available with high-end professional audio products that often cost 
  61.      thousands of dollars.  It supports multi-timbral MIDI channels with 
  62.      32-voice polyphony as well as independent control of advanced special 
  63.      effects (reverb, chorus or QSound), vibrato (pitch oscillation) and 
  64.      tremolo (volume oscillation) for each of its 32 voices.  Additional

  66.      advanced audio features include state-of-the art pitch-shifting 
  67.      techniques, resonance filters that control the timbre of each 
  68.      instrument when played at different dynamic levels, a six-part 
  69.      amplitude envelope, and a six-part auxiliary envelope for independent 
  70.      controlling of pitch and timbre.

  73.      As with Creative's entire family of standard-setting 16-bit audio 
  74.      boards, Sound Blaster AWE32 offers 16-bit CD-quality stereo sampling 
  75.      and playback up to 44.1 kHz.  Sound Blaster AWE32 supports the Sound 
  76.      Blaster platform and is fully compatible with General MIDI, Sound 
  77.      Canvas and MT-32 specifications.  The audio card also supports three 
  78.      of the most popular single and double speed CD-ROM drives on the 
  79.      market from Sony, Mitsumi, and Creative.

  81.      Sound Blaster AWE32 supports E-mu Systems' SoundFont audio library of 
  82.      sampled sounds, which have been widely regarded as the finest musical 
  83.      instrument and sound effects samples available.  Additional samples 
  84.      from the SoundFont library can be downloaded into AWE32's on-board 4 
  85.      megabit DRAM chip (which can be expanded to 28 megabyte of RAM) to 
  86.      bring added variety and flexibility of sounds to the user.

  91.      VoiceAssist(TM), Creative's premier speech recognition software for 
  92.      Windows applications; Creative TextAssist(TM), a text-to-speech system 
  93.      based on Digital Equipment Corp.'s DECtalk technology; QSound Virtual 
  94.      Audio, a 180 degree sound localization technology; WaveStudio, 
  95.      Creative's wave file editor; Creative Ensemble, a set of software 
  96.      applications for playback of wave, CD and MIDI files that resembles a 
  97.      home "hi-fi" system; HSC Interactive SE; Cakewalk Apprentice, an 
  98.      easy-to-use yet powerful sequencer software program; and a variety of 
  99.      other utilities specifically developed by Creative for its family of 
  100.      Sound Blaster audio boards.
